Using ATMEL-ICE

Wed Jan 27, 2016 6:03 am

Hi, all !

I have a SAMA5D3 XPLAINED and ATMEL-ICE.

Can I use the Atmel-ICE with SAMA5D3 XPLAINED board ?

I have trying flash-write with atmel studio (ver. 6.2) , there is no device list about AT91 series.

Probably not.
The Atmel Store describes the Atmel -ICE as "a powerful development tool for debugging and programming Atmel ARM® Cortex®-M based Atmel SAM and AVR® microcontrollers with on-chip debug capability."
Your SoC has an ARM Cortex-A processor.

IIRC the documentation for Atmel Studio does not include SAMA5D3x as supported devices.

Also an ICE is typically only capable of programing integrated flash memory.
The Atmel SAMA5D3x line (like most MPUs) has no integrated flash; the flash memory is external to the SoC.
