Display Modules for SAMA5D27-SOM1-EK1 Board

Wed Mar 11, 2020 5:53 pm

Hello,

I am using SAMA5D27-SOM1-EK1 board. I want to use touch screen display module. After reading the Embedded Card datasheet :

http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/D ... 02667C.pdf

In part 3.3.1 LCD interface, I can find that the supported LCD display types are : TM43xx series, TM5000 series or TM7000 series
from PDA Inc.

I found same thing here :

https://www.linux4sam.org/bin/view/Linu ... uleFromPDA

I want to know if there is way or possibility to use another Display type on the SAMA5D27-SOM1-EK1 board ?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can absolutely use another LCD module. You just need to follow the wiring of the LCD connector and match the signals correctly.
I2C lines on the connector are just for convenience: they come from MPU just like other I2C buses: you can use it for whatever I2C usage possible.

Thanks for clarifications. Is there any example or Documents that could help me .. or maybe an already released project for that ? Thank you
