JTAG debugging with olimex arm-usb

Tue Jan 27, 2009 7:13 pm

Hello there!

I've have a question with regard to jtag debugging. I'm using the olimex arm-usb adapter with openocd under opensuse11. It seems as if the configuration of openocd works with my AT91SAM9263 because I can connect via telnet and via GDB to the openocd/gdb server. I am able to reset, to stop and to resume the target but it does not stop at breakpoints.
Does it have something to do with the fact that the whole stuff running on the board is not only one project with one Map-file? On the board uboot, kernel and linux are running so there always is the question for a symbol table? If someone knows how to debug the uboot or the kernel I would be happy. Thanks!

Perhaps the use of olimex arm-usb is not the best choice? Does someone suggest a better combination of tools than using olimex and openocd?
