SerialFlash and Custom board

Mon Mar 23, 2009 6:11 am

Hi all,

Im building a custom board using the at91sam9260, 16bit sdram, no nandFlash and a AT25DF321 SerialFlash.

I think im close to setting up SAM-BA to be able to program this serial flash. It is on NPCS0 of SPI0, so if i understand
correctly the serial flash bin files for the 9260-EK board should work just fine. However the problem im comming
across is that when i try to "enable serial flash (SPI0 CS0)" i get an error :
-E- Script error: Applet Init command returns error: 0x00000007

can somebody tell me where to find more info on this error?
also any advice on using sam-ba with a custom board would be great, as so far its slow going.

One last question: will the sam-ba running in ROM be able to auto detect and run a program on the
serial flash as it does with dataFlash? as far as i can tell the serial flash and dataflash are basically the same but
without the new trademarked name? there both flash running on SPI, even the same pinout. however im wondering if the
data access is the same and will sam-ba in ROM be able to load off of the serial flash?

-Thanks for all help in advance!
