How to make uboot adapt to a new flash?

Mon Jun 27, 2005 1:23 pm

I'm a newer to Uboot. Now I designed a new board with AT91RM9200 and S29GL064M instead of AT49BV6416. I want to what I need to do with uboot to make uboot adapt to this flash? Thanks a lot.

first of all, read the README in the upper directory of u-boot.

The idea is to create your project's subdirectory in the "board" directory and integrate in to the build process.

Second, it seems there is already some code available for the S29GL064M in u-boot.

> rgrep S29GL064M u-boot-1.1.2/
u-boot-1.1.2/board/cmc_pu2/flash.c: case FLASH_S29GL064M:
u-boot-1.1.2/board/cmc_pu2/flash.c: printf ("S29GL064M-R6 (64Mbit,uniform sector size)\n");
u-boot-1.1.2/board/cmc_pu2/flash.c: debug ("Chip: S29GL064M-R6\n");
u-boot-1.1.2/board/cmc_pu2/flash.c: info->flash_id+= FLASH_S29GL064M;

Hope it helps
