SAM3 USB Drivers - Compliant?

Tue Feb 23, 2010 10:57 pm

Hi..

I am evaluating a few USB solutions at the moment, including the ATSAM3U-EK. I've made a Win 98 Boot Disk using the SAM3 Eval and an SD Card.

The problem is, a PC won't boot from it. The PC pauses for a while but eventually gives up on it.

If I take the SD card and put into my STR9 Eval kit, it works. (The PC will boot from it.)

I even modified the "usb-device-massstorage-project-at91sam3u-ek" project to just have the SD LUN. Again, it works inside Windows but the PC can't boot from it.

Does anybody have any thoughts?

The SAM3 is a promising micro but things like this make me wonder about compatibility with standards...

Regards.

Also... the AT91 USB Framework Application Note (doc6263.pdf) refers to structures that don't appear to exist.

Has the framework changed and the documentation not been updated?
