Frame Buffer

Tue Apr 18, 2006 1:51 pm

Hi !

I am quite new to embedded linux and ARM processors. What I want to do is to write a simple C-program in linux that acesses the graphics frame buffer of my AT91SAM9261-EK card.

I have currently running a (simple)linux and can compile a "Hello World" program (in text/console mode). Now I wonder how to program graphics. I thought accessing the frame buffer directly might be the esiest way to do that. Or will I have to compile some graphics server like X or GTK first ?

So any help on what to do and how to program the linux framebuffer would be very helpful.
